Most Disney fans collect pins, t-shirts, and pictures…
But what about a one-of-a-kind fire truck?
The Reedy Creek Professional Fire Fighters have the responsibility of responding to fire and emergency calls in the ‘happiest place on earth’. Providing protection to many parts of the monorail necessitated unique equipment, so in 1990 they put in service this 1990 E-One 6x6 Hurricane Aerial, affectionately known as “the Platypus”. A 6x6, 62’ aerial, it uses the base and mid sections from an E-One 95’ Tower to create this one of a kind truck.
After years of service as a work-horse for the Reedy Creek Fire Fighters, this E-One Aerial is now for sale at Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus in Union Grove, AL.
Truck Highlights
- Pump: 400 GPM
- Water Tank: 100 gallons
- Mileage: Only 16,692 miles
- Configuration: 6x6, 62’ Aerial
With these specs, the used fire truck still has plenty of life left for fighting fire — or it might just be the next piece of memorabilia for the right Disney collector.
It’s a fun one to have on the property!
